The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) seeks an attorney for the role of Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals and Federal Habeas Corpus Bureau. The bureau handles appellate litigation related to criminal prosecutions, federal habeas petitions, and provides legal advice to state prosecutors.
Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of legal experience, demonstrated skills in legal research, analysis, and writing, a talent for oral advocacy, and prior criminal appellate or clerkship experience. Candidates must reside or plan to reside in New York and be admitted to practice law in New York. U.S. citizenship is required. A two-year commitment is mandatory upon hire.
