Job summary

Retro Biosciences, Inc. is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist to stand up G-banding and karyotyping in-house for the HSC program. You will establish workflows, perform metaphase prep, staining, imaging, and provide literature-backed karyotype analyses.

The role includes maintaining iPSC cultures and collaborating with CROs to assess genomic stability. You should bring hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, high-magnification microscopy, and proficiency in image analysis software.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on G-banding and karyotype analysis experience.
• Experience with imaging software and cytogenetics workflow validation.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience with sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Transfer and document established G-banding and karyotyping workflow in-house for HSC program cell products.
• Execute full cytogenetics workflow from metaphase arrest to software-assisted karyotype analysis.
• Compare in-house results with historical data and define QC criteria.
• Analyze metaphase spreads to identify chromosomal abnormalities and document findings clearly.
• Support genomic-stability assessment of human primary cells.
• Culture, passage, expand, bank, and prepare iPSC samples for karyotyping.
• Track clone-level genomic stability and culture conditions across lines.
• Coordinate with CROs for sample shipments and analyses.
• Maintain records, sample tracking, and imaging files; develop SOPs.
