The role focuses on employment law, corporate compliance, and workplace investigations, advising internal clients, managing investigations, and supporting broader business initiatives. The attorney will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, implement policies, and collaborate with HR, Compliance, and other functions to mitigate risk and promote ethical, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one state (prefer Michigan).
• 3–5 years of practice experience in a law firm or in-house.
• Experience advising on employment law and employee relations.
• Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to HR, Compliance, and stakeholders on employment law and workplace matters.
• Conduct and support workplace investigations with interviews and documentation.
• Support corporate compliance initiatives, policy development, and training.
• Support regulatory and corporate compliance, including data privacy.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other business-critical documents.
• Review and negotiate business agreements and advise on legal issues.
• Assist with legal department administration, outside counsel, and budgets.
• Perform additional duties to support broader initiatives.
