Job summary

Bunzl North America seeks a Corporate Counsel to join our in-house team in St. Louis, focusing on commercial transactions with customers and vendors. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days in the St. Louis office and reports to the Assistant General Counsel.

The candidate will draft and negotiate contracts, advise on legal issues, and help implement AI-enabled contract review tools while building efficient processes. Requires a J.D., state bar, and 2–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Two to five years of experience as a corporate or transactional attorney, either in-house or private practice with focus on those areas.
• Strong drafting, negotiating, and communication skills.
• Experience with AI-enabled contract review tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts.
• Partner with business teams on strategy, operations and transactions.
• Advise clients with practical business application.
• Lead evaluation and implementation of AI-enabled legal technologies.
• Develop contract processes, playbooks and self-service tools.
• Manage outside counsel when needed.
• Provide training on contracting, risk and compliance.
• Stay current on relevant laws and regulations and provide guidance.
