With a strong presence in California, we are looking to hire a Senior Construction Inspector for our Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing daily oversight, monitoring, and documentation of construction activities across transportation, water, and building infrastructure projects. Interpreting plans, specifications, and codes, and verifying contract compliance.
2. Monitoring construction sites for safety violations and maintaining detailed activity logs and reports, including photographs, for client review. Reviewing progress reports and preparing reports on labor, materials, and equipment.
3. Conducting assessments in accordance with Quality Assurance/Quality Control plans.
4. Supporting a safe work environment by promoting safety rules and policies.
5. Providing construction safety and security inspections, including site safety reviews.
6. Preparing daily inspection reports with photographs, cost estimates, and maintenance records, utilizing latest technology for cost-effective report submission.
7. Overseeing technical assessments such as electrical, soil testing, and concrete conforming to specifications.
8. Assisting engineering consultants with geotechnical and survey data analysis.
9. Leading inspection teams on larger projects, coordinating resources with the Construction Manager.

Qualifications:

• Experience with civil construction inspection equipment and office engineering tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CPM scheduling software like Primavera and MS Project.
• Strong communication skills and experience with labor compliance monitoring.
• Knowledge of subcontracting laws, stormwater permits, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate and concise records of work and quantities.
• Over 20 years of progressively responsible experience in heavy civil, transportation, or transit projects.
• Desired: experience with street-running rail, waterfront infrastructure, concrete repairs, and civil site work.
• Valid California driver’s license and OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Certifications such as ICC or equivalent, and possibly Deputy Inspector licenses in Los Angeles or Long Beach.
• Ability to obtain national certifications like NICET, ACI, AWS, or equivalent.
