Job summary

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join our in-house legal team in Washington, DC. This role focuses on commercial contracts across the business and supports corporate, compliance, privacy, and IP matters in partnership with the legal team and cross-functional stakeholders.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Finance, Contracts, and Marketing to draft and negotiate agreements, develop scalable playbooks, and stay ahead of evolving laws and regulations that affect Peregrine's

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial/transactional legal work.
• Experience with technology transactions or general commercial contracting (SaaS, licensing, vendor).
• Ability to explain legal risk to non-lawyers and work across business teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and licensing agreements.
• Provide practical advice on IP, data privacy, security, AI, and licensing.
• Review marketing-related contracts and collateral.
• Build and evolve playbooks, templates, and policies to scale the business.
• Monitor legal/regulatory changes affecting Peregrine’s business.
• Counsel stakeholders on ad hoc legal and compliance matters.
