Job summary

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join our legal team in Washington, D.C. This role reports to the Associate General Counsel and spans commercial contracts, corporate, compliance, privacy, IP, and legal operations in partnership with cross-functional teams.

You will work daily with Sales, Finance, Contracts, Customer Delivery, Marketing, and other departments. The role is ideal for a commercial contracts attorney who is adaptable and eager to broaden in-house generalist

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial/transactional legal work.
• Experience with technology transactions or general commercial contracting (SaaS, licensing, vendor contracts, or similar).
• Curiosity about new areas of legal practice and desire to broaden your skill set.
• Sound commercial judgment and ability to explain legal risk to non-lawyers.
• Clear, low-ego, collaborative communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including tech licensing, vendor, and data sharing agreements.
• Provide practical advice on IP, data privacy, security, AI, and software licensing matters.
• Review marketing collateral and related contracts.
• Build and evolve playbooks, templates, and policies with Legal Operations.
• Monitor and educate stakeholders on changes in laws and regulations affecting the business.
• Counsel on ad hoc legal, compliance, and operational matters and deepen expertise over time.
