Job summary

Rappahannock Area Community Services Board seeks a dedicated residential support worker to assist adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and community activities. You will implement plans of care, support daily living tasks, and promote health and safety.

The role emphasizes effective communication, accurate documentation, and collaboration with families and care teams to provide consistent, person-centered care. A valid Virginia driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with adults with developmental disabilities or mental illness preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Ability to document accurate participant records.
• Ability to follow plans of care and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with self-care, household duties, meal planning, and social activities.
• Assist residents with medical appointments and transportation as needed.
• Administer and document medications and monitor safety.
• Maintain daily progress notes and documentation.
• Serve as liaison with families and other service providers.
