Rappahannock Area Community Services Board is seeking a Direct Care Specialist to provide direct care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community activity center. You will work under supervision within established policies and procedures, supporting skill development and rehabilitative training.

You will monitor behaviors, assist with personal hygiene, transport participants, administer medications, and document progress.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma with some coursework in Behavioral Sciences.
• Experience in day support programs for intellectually disabled/developmentally disabled adults.
• Knowledge of safety, behavioral management, and support planning.

Aufgaben

• Monitor participant behaviors, safety and health according to service plans.
• Instructs and supervises individuals in skill development and community integration.
• Assist with personal hygiene and use of assistive devices.
• Coordinate skill training needs with other habilitation staff.
• Prepare progress notes and quarterly reports.
• Support participation in socialization and recreational activities.
