Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Licensed as a speech-language pathologist by the state in which services are provided; Florida licensure.
• Preferably ASHA member.
• Must have current CPR certification. Online certification is not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient level of functioning and recommend mechanisms to enhance hearing ability.
• Provide ongoing assessments including OASIS assessments.
• Establish and revise Speech Therapy treatment plan in consultation with physician.
• Assist in development and implementation of interdisciplinary patient care plan for Speech Therapy.
• Ensure physician's orders are appropriate and discuss changes.
• Communicate with team members and instruct in speech pathology techniques as needed.
• Teach and counsel patient and family in Speech Therapy at home.
• Assess home situation to determine instruction and assistance needed.
• Arrange outpatient services when needed.
• Record evaluation data, treatments, and patient response promptly.
