Macomb County Government, Office Of Senior Services, seeks an Advocate - Senior Services (Part-time) to perform in-home assessments, complete intakes for various programs, and refer clients to public benefits. The role involves community outreach and on-site visits five days a week.

The candidate must have an Associate degree or 60 credits, one year in human services, and a valid Michigan driver’s license. Evening and weekend flexibility not required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 completed credits in Gerontology, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field
• One year of experience in the Human Services field
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; one year home visit experience preferred
• Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured vehicle for travel

Responsabilités

• Assess needs of individuals and families for agency programs and services
• Conduct intakes and assessments for eligibility
• Schedule and conduct assessments with clients
• Identify health and nutritional risks and recommend interventions
• Assist clients in obtaining services for food, shelter, or other basic needs
• Maintain accurate records and use required software
• Provide community education presentations
• Operate a vehicle to perform job functions
