Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled services in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. The role focuses on promoting independence and functional daily living in a home care setting.

You will document outcomes, participate in care coordination, and support safe rehabilitation. Requirements include ACOTE-accredited OTA education, NBCOT eligibility, current state license, CPR, and at least one year

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited by ACOTE of AOTA or successor organization.
• Eligible to take the NBCOT entry-level certification examination.
• Current license to practice as an OTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• One year of OTA-related experience to ensure safe service provision.
• If less than one year of experience, regional clinical leader approval and mentoring may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
• Documents each visit per AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Observes and reports patient response and changes to the supervising OT and care team.
• Provides patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promotes wellness and occupational engagement.
