Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking in-home hospice and euthanasia veterinarians to serve pet families throughout Charleston, Mount Pleasant & Goose Creek, South Carolina and surrounding areas. This role offers professional autonomy and a meaningful alternative to traditional clinics, with in-home care, palliative services, and compassionate euthanasia.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to travel to homes.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services.
• Travel to scheduled appointments and work in a mobile care environment.
• Conduct examinations, administer medications, sedation, and euthanasia per regulations.
• Educate families on end-of-life options and care decisions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and professional documentation.
• Communicate professionally with families and medical team.
• Safely handle animals during home visits.
• Maintain professionalism and clinical judgment on the road.
• Demonstrate Heartstrings’ values in every interaction.
