Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice invites compassionate veterinarians to join our in-home hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia team serving Jacksonville, FL and surrounding areas. You’ll practice outside the traditional clinic, with autonomy and meaningful family interactions.

We value empathetic communication, professional judgment, and the ability to travel between appointments in a mobile veterinary setting while maintaining high standards of care for patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the relevant state(s) or eligibility to obtain it.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia services within your service area.
• Travel independently to scheduled in-home appointments in a mobile practice setting.
• Perform physical exams, medications, sedation, euthanasia, and related veterinary care per regulations.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with families and team.
