Job summary

Caretenders Hospice, part of the UnitedHealth Group family, seeks a Chaplain/Spiritual Caregiver to provide in-home spiritual care for hospice patients and their families. This full-time role requires travel within a 50-mile service radius and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to support emotional and spiritual needs.

Required qualifications include ordination/endorsement with Standing, a theology-related degree (or 2 CPE units), and health-care pastoral experience.

Qualifications

• Documentation of ordainment/endorsement & Letter of Good Standing by a Faith Group recognized by the Armed Forces Chaplains Board
• Bachelor's Degree in theology or related discipline OR 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education
• 2+ years of experience in a health care setting and/or related pastoral experience
• Documentation of endorsement or acceptable language in accordance with the applicant's spiritual/faith tradition. Faith groups recognized by the Armed Forces Chaplains Board
• Documentation showing good standing with their spiritual/faith group with no ethical charges current or pending
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to hospice patients and their families
• Walk alongside patients in their spiritual journey and refrain from sharing personal beliefs unless asked
• Utilize a range of spiritual resources and refer to community religious leaders when needed
• Collaborate with the IDG to address emotional and spiritual needs
• Provide spiritual and emotional care to hospice staff when requested
