Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles seeks qualified high school science and math teachers and tutors to provide personalized one-on-one support for grades 9–12 across the Northern Los Angeles area. Educators help students build confidence, master advanced concepts, and succeed through tailored instruction.

Ideal candidates hold a California teaching credential or are pursuing one, have experience in high school math/science, and can travel to students' homes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, Engineering, or related field.
• Valid California teaching credential or equivalent preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school mathematics and/or science.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt instruction to diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring for grades 9–12 in mathematics and/or science.
• Support Algebra I–II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science.
• Assist with homework, study skills, and test preparation, including APs and SAT/ACT math and science content.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and goals.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to families.
• Travel to students' homes in Northern Los Angeles area.
• Create a positive, engaging learning environment.
