Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking qualified, dedicated, and compassionate High School Science and Math Teachers and Tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in Grades 9–12 throughout the Northern Los Angeles area. Our educators help students build confidence and master advanced concepts in mathematics and science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
• Teaching credential or advanced degree preferred.
• Valid California teaching credential or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school mathematics and/or science.
• Strong knowledge of high school math and science curriculum and instructional best practices.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt instruction to diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring for high school students (Grades 9–12) in mathematics and/or science
• Support students in subjects including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science
• Assist with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation, including AP courses and SAT/ACT math and science-related content when appropriate
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and academic goals
• Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to families
• Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
• Travel to students' homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles area
