Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking qualified, dedicated, and compassionate High School English Teachers and Tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in Grades 9–12 throughout the Northern Los Angeles area.

Our educators help students strengthen reading comprehension, literary analysis, academic writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills while building the confidence needed for success in high school and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English or related field required; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred.
• Valid California teaching credential preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school English.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring for high school students (Grades 9–12) in English Language Arts.
• Support students in literature, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and composition.
• Assist with homework, essay writing, study skills, and test preparation as appropriate.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and goals.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to families.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
• Travel to students' homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles area.
