Job summary
Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking qualified High School English Teachers and Tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in Grades 9–12 throughout the Northern Los Angeles area.
We offer competitive hourly compensation, flexible scheduling based on your availability, ongoing professional support, and long-term relationships with students and families in a premium in-home tutoring setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English or related field required.
- California teaching credential or equivalent preferred.
- Experience teaching or tutoring high school English.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring for high school students (Grades 9–12) in English Language Arts.
- Support with literature, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and composition.
- Assist with homework, essay writing, study skills, and SAT/ACT verbal prep when appropriate.
- Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and goals.
- Monitor progress and provide updates to families.
