Job summary

CAPS & Maple City in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Family Support Specialist to partner with staff and referrals to provide in-home case management, parent education, and resource navigation. You will deliver culturally competent, trauma-informed support to families seeking assistance while maintaining confidentiality and accurate documentation in electronic case files.

Travel within Elkhart County may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of infant/child development and ability to build trusting relationships.
• Fluent English; Spanish preferred for broader family outreach.
• Experience with diverse families and trauma-informed practice is expected.

Responsibilities

• Articulate materials and ideas with families in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Work with staff and referrals to best serve families according to their needs.
• Ensure program evaluation and documentation are completed thoroughly and timely.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic case files within program timelines.
• Assist individuals with navigating local support systems in Elkhart County.
• Cross-train and provide coverage for other programs as needed.
• Attend supervisory and mandatory in-service meetings.
• Report any suspicion of abuse to the Department of Child Services immediately.
