Job summary

Samaritas in Michigan is hiring a Preservation Advocate / Case Manager for the MiFamily Together (MFT) program. The role is home-based, delivering in-home family support to reduce risk of maltreatment, promote stability and long-term wellbeing using a 2Gen approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any human service field or education required.
• Two years’ experience working with children and/or families or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree within 6 months.
• Knowledge of strength-based, family-centered and solution-focused approaches preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly in-home services to families over a 6-month period.
• Deliver crisis intervention, education and support to families at risk of child removal or reunification.
• Utilize Protective Factors and the 2Gen approach to strengthen family systems.
• Conduct comprehensive family assessments and collaboratively develop goals with families.
• Support skill-building and connect families to resources; coordinate with referral sources, courts, schools and community providers.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records, track progress and complete reports; participate in training.
