Job summary

Empowered Services in Yamhill County seeks an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent, structured in-home and community-based care for individuals with IDD. No prior DSP experience is required – paid training is provided.

You’ll support daily living routines, assist with community activities, and help people build independence while maintaining clear boundaries and a calm, respectful approach.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines (meals, hygiene, organization)
• Assist with community access (shopping, errands, outings)
• Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches
• Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations
• Assist with household upkeep and organization
• Encourage independence and personal responsibility
• Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation
• Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment
