Job summary

Empowered Services is hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent, structured care for individuals with IDD. The role offers one-on-one in-home and community-based support in the Yamhill County area with paid training provided.

You will assist with daily routines, community activities, and personal care, while maintaining boundaries and building independence for clients in Portland-area communities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements).
• Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying).
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs.
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines (meals, hygiene, organization).
• Assist with community access (shopping, errands, outings).
• Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches.
• Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations.
• Assist with household upkeep and organization.
• Encourage independence and personal responsibility.
• Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation.
• Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment.
