Job summary

Eden Health in Spokane, WA is seeking a Home Health Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide in-home therapies and participate in a multidisciplinary care team. You will implement physician-ordered plans, review caseload with the supervising PT, and communicate patient needs and progress to other staff and family members.

The role requires PTA licensure, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to patient safety in home environments.

Qualifications

• Licensed, registered, or certified as a physical therapist assistant in the practicing state.
• CPR certification current and valid.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans ordered by the physician as indicated by the plan of care to all patients on caseload.
• Review caseload with supervising PT on a regular basis as established by best practice and/or State guidelines.
• Evaluate significance of assessment findings and communicate patient status to the healthcare team.
• Communicate changes in patient status to office staff and physician as per Agency policy.
• Educate patients and families in appropriate physical therapy modalities.
• Deliver physical therapy modalities appropriate to patient status and age.
• Maintain patient safety and reduce medical/healthcare errors during therapy.
• Participate in case conferences to discuss multidisciplinary team responsibilities and plans for continued care.
• Identify environmental safety/mobility risks and intervene to reduce them.
• Maintain current knowledge of community resources and assist with transfers and discharge.
