Job summary

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides non-medical, hands-on support to clients in their homes under the supervision of an RN. The PCA assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) to promote safety, comfort and independence, while upholding dignity and respect of each client.

Essential duties include personal care, light housekeeping, meal support, and compassionate companionship.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Good verbal and written communications skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental ADLs (IADLs).
• Assist with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene as directed by RN.
• Perform light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and companionship.
• Document care provided and report changes to supervising nurse; maintain HIPAA compliance.
