Job summary

Open Arms Solutions in Downtown Chicago is seeking compassionate, dependable in-home caregivers to support seniors in their own homes. You will help with daily activities, provide companionship, prepare meals, and ensure safety and comfort in a home setting.

The role involves mobility support, transportation to appointments, and documenting care, with a starting pay of $18/hour and flexible scheduling options. Training and benefits are available to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience within the past 2 years.
• Valid driver’s license or state ID.
• Reliable transportation to client locations.
• Smartphone for communication and care documentation.
• Ability to complete required background screening.
• Dependability, compassion and a professional approach to client care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction.
• Prepare meals and encourage hydration.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Help with light housekeeping and laundry.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and activities as needed.
• Observe and report changes in clients' condition.
• Complete basic care documentation.
