Job summary

Family Relief Resources LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home care for a energetic nearly 16-year-old client in Lake Oswego, OR. The role includes community outings, skill-building, and supporting socialization with a schedule on Tuesdays 6pm-9pm and flexible weekends.

Ideal candidates are patient, reliable, and able to communicate with families and health professionals. CPR/First Aid certification and phone-based timekeeping/reporting are required.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Criminal History Check required
• Work minimum 15 hours per month
• CPR and First Aid Certification (within 3 months of hire)
• State required online training courses (pre-hire and within 3 months)
• Continuing Education (24 hours per year)
• Basic technology knowledge including smartphone timekeeping and reporting
• Experience with children and/or adults with varying support needs (ID/behavioral disabilities)
• Confidentiality and safeguarding client information
• Ability to communicate with clients, families, health care providers, and case managers
• Respond to emergencies when services are delivered

Responsibilities

• Care for a client in home and community to learn skills and socialize
• Teach independent living skills (self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping, cleaning)
• Not a facility—all activities occur in community or client’s home
• Track visits with GPS via timekeeping app at clock-in/out
• Drive if needed with valid license and insurance
• Document progress notes after each shift and quarterly progress reports
• Maintain the set schedule and reliability for client interactions
• Be patient, kind, and positive with client and family
• Adapt to different personalities and disabilities day-to-day
