Job summary

Family Relief Resources LLC. seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home care for an 8-year-old client in South East Portland. You will support daily living skills, behavior management, and socialization in the client’s home and community settings.

The role requires patience, reliability, and experience with behavioral health needs, plus proficiency with smartphones for timekeeping and GPS tracking. Part-time or full-time hours, with after-school and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Experience with emotional regulation and behavioral support.
• Knowledge of mental health and trauma-informed care.
• Experience with toileting assistance and elopement prevention.
• Patient, dependable and able to stay calm during challenging behaviors.
• Respect for confidentiality and ability to follow written and oral orders.

Responsibilities

• Care for client in home and community settings, teaching independent living skills.
• Track visits with GPS location verification at clock in/out via smartphone.
• Provide transportation as needed with valid license and insurance.
• Document progress notes after each shift and quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain schedule and communicate effectively with family and agency.
• Demonstrate patient, kind, and positive attitude toward client and family.
• Adapt to different personalities and disabilities on a day-to-day basis.
