Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Independence at Home in Connecticut is seeking Homemaker Caregivers to support elderly and disabled clients in their own homes, promoting independence and dignity.

You will provide personal care, prepare meals, and perform light housekeeping while reporting changes to nurses and coordinating with the care team. A driver’s license and vehicle are required; CNAs are welcome to join and grow with Hartford HealthCare.

Qualifications

• Driver's license and car with auto insurance are required for Hourly Caregivers.
• One year of previous personal care experience.
• Two years of continuous work experience.
• New Grad CNAs are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming care to clients.
• Assist with toileting, ambulation, and mobility.
• Prepare meals to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Report changes in clients' condition to the nurse or supervisor.
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management tasks.
• Document care on the care plan and submit in a timely manner.
• Offer emotional support to clients and families.
• Assist with routine therapy exercises.
• Attend required in-service education sessions.
• Use computer software and a smartphone for required education.
• Represent the company with professional customer service.
• Think critically without direct supervision and escalate when appropriate.
