Position Summary

The In-Home Caregiver delivers essential personal care, companionship, and daily assistance to clients within the comfort of their homes. This role plays a vital part in maintaining client independence, dignity, and safety in compliance with individual care plans, state regulations, and agency standards.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, and incontinence care.

• Mobility & Transfers: Support client movement and transfers safely using gait belts, mechanical lifts, and proper physical techniques.

• Specialized Care Support: Provide specialized assistance for clients requiring dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care support.

• Homemaking & Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals, perform light housekeeping duties, and maintain a safe, clean home environment.

• Companionship & Engagement: Offer meaningful conversation, social engagement, and emotional encouragement to enhance client well-being.

• Transportation: Provide reliable transportation for medical appointments, shopping, and essential errands as assigned.

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate shift records, adhere to care plans, and communicate changes in client condition to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Work Authorization: Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and dependable transportation preferred.

• Physical Demands: Ability to routinely lift, transfer, push, or pull weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds.

• Background Check & Screening: Successful completion of a DPS Computerized Criminal History background check and pre-employment drug screen.

• Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work flexible shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, or 10pm-6am) including regular weekend rotations.

• Certifications: Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent healthcare credential preferred.

• Willingness to master proper procedures for transfers, gait belt application, and lift equipment
