Revere Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse 2nd District Float to cover absences across district schools. This one-year appointment may lead to future opportunities and requires flexibility to float between sites as needed.

The role involves injury and illness assessment, emergency care, medication administration, health screenings, and collaboration with parents, physicians, and school staff to support students’ health and safety within a dynamic urban district.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• CPR/AED certified by American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Licensed or eligible for Massachusetts school nurse licensure
• Nursing experience in school, pediatrics, or public health preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate student and staff health needs including injuries and illness
• Maintain daily health service logs using the SNAP health program
• Provide emergency care to staff and students
• Administer medications per school policy and state regulations
• Coordinate state-mandated health screenings and follow-up referrals
• Ensure immunization status meets Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements
• Assist families in obtaining health insurance and navigating healthcare systems
• Maintain individual health records for each student
• Develop Individual Health Care Plans and 504 plans for students with needs
• Provide medical consultation at IEP and 504 meetings
• Collaborate with parents, physicians and health care providers for student care
• Carry out communicable disease prevention and infection control
• Provide health education to students and staff on health issues
• Promote a healthy, safe school environment
• Report suspected child abuse/neglect per state regulations
