Job summary

The Nashua School District is hiring a School Float Nurse - RN for the 2025-2026 school year. The role supports district-wide health coverage, handles emergencies, immunization checks, and referrals for medical services.

The ideal candidate holds a NH Registered Nurse license, a Bachelor's in Nursing, CPR and First Aid certification, and has at least three years of pediatric nursing experience. Strong communication and data-management skills are required.

Qualifications

Current NH RN license, bachelor's in nursing, state board certification, CPR and First Aid.
Three years of pediatric nursing or related experience.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with student database information systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Care for emergencies and provide first aid and arrange further treatment as needed.
Inspect students for health and signs of communicable disease and follow up as required.
Contact parents about illness and inform school office of students released due to illness.
Under the Principal's direction investigate unexplained pupil absences.
Check immunization records and notify parents of deficiencies and inform the Principal of non-compliance.
Arrange and perform medical screenings and update staff and parents.
Coordinate referrals for physical exams and clinics for families in need.
Ensure compliance with laws/regulations on medication administration.
Maintain health records, logs, and supply inventories per district/state policies.
