Job summary

Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Associates in Colorado is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to support clinic operations: scheduling new and follow-up appointments, managing referrals, checking patients in and out, and coordinating with PCPs.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, medical terminology knowledge, fast, accurate typing, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to serve nine hospital ICUs and outpatient clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical office front desk experience.
• Patient centered focus and confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Typing speed of 50–80 WPM with high accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule new patient and follow-up appointments.
• Manage patient referrals and coordinate with PCPs.
• Check patients in and out for appointments.
• Verify patient insurance information and coverage.
• Collect patient payments at point of service.
• Prepare charts for new and follow-up patients.
• Establish reminder recalls in the EMR.
• Handle incoming/outgoing fax communications.
• Answer calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Schedule hospital procedures as needed (Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Thoracentesis).
• Obtain patient medical records as needed.
• Assist patients with web portal login information.
• Other duties as assigned by Clinic Leadership.
