Job summary

PKF O'Connor Davies in the United States seeks a Senior Audit Associate to serve as in-charge on government audit engagements for municipalities, school districts, and public authorities. The role requires strong knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing standards, leadership capability, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and client relationships.

You will supervise teams, ensure timely, high-quality deliverables, and act as a trusted advisor to clients while traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• CPA license or working toward CPA certification preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive audit experience in public accounting with a governmental focus.
• Experience auditing municipalities, school districts, and authorities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GASB, Yellow Book, and Single Audit requirements.
• Proven supervision of complex audit engagements and client relationships.
• Able to travel locally to client locations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and oversee audit engagements for government entities (municipalities, school districts, authorities).
• Ensure compliance with GAAS, GASB, Yellow Book, Single Audit as applicable.
• Review audit workpapers and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as primary client contact and manage relationships.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staffing.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff and seniors.
