Job summary

Legacy Supply Chain is seeking an Import Specialist / Customs Entry Writer in Dublin, OH. You will classify goods, prepare entry documents (7501, 3461), and ensure compliance with U.S. CBP regulations while coordinating with Airlines, NVOCCs, and carriers.

You will file daily entries, verify origin and tariff classifications, and support customer service by advising on regulations and timelines. Experience with Cargowise and FTZ processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in international logistics or customs brokerage.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, Incoterms, and HTS classification.
• Strong understanding of U.S., Asia, and EU customs regulations.
• Experience in multinational customs & VAT environments.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other pertinent software.

Responsibilities

• Daily entry filing and familiarity with regulatory requirements (OGAs).
• Prepare entry documentation including 7501 and 3461.
• Prepare customs brokerage files and verify arrival information.
• Rate commercial invoices with tariff numbers and verify country of origin.
• Prepare entry documents for customs approval and duty payment.
• Coordinate delivery orders with truckers and carriers.
• Advise importers on tariff classification, regulations, and procedures.

Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is hiring an Import Specialist / Customs Entry Writer who will classify, submits documentation for importing goods, ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. This position includes a competitive salary and bonus plan with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.

What to Expect as in Import Specialist / Customs Entry Writer:

• Responsible for daily entry filing, familiar with OGAs (FDA, FCC, USDA, etc.) requirements.
• Prepare entry documentation including 7501, 3461, etc.
• Prepare customs brokerage file
• Verify arrival information with Airlines/NVOCC's/ Steamship Lines, etc.
• Rate commercial invoice with tariff numbers
• Verify country of origin
• Prepare entry documents for Customs approval and Duty payment
• Prepare delivery order, send to trucker, verify receipt
• Advise importers of any areas of tariff classification, regulations and procedures.
• Ensure that all entries are filed on time and freight delivered in a timely manner in accordance with company and customer expectations.
• Background in Cargowise preferred
• Background in FTZ weekly blanket and withdrawal preferred.
• Maintain Customer Service functions and follow guidelines and procedures for handling customer issues.
• Process incoming and outgoing customer calls to provide customer satisfaction
• Provide initial Customer Service functions on new inquiries.
