Job summary

Hillebrand Gori in Edison, NJ seeks a Customer Service Rep - Import to support customers via phone, email and digital channels, coordinating with operations, sales and procurement to ensure smooth ocean freight flows.

You will process orders, share product information, and contribute to OFR Ops/CS plans while upholding service quality and profitability. A minimum 2 years in import/freight forwarding with a bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in import / freight forwarding.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to build relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Resolve product or service issues by clarifying the concern and following up for resolution.
• Process orders and requests accurately and efficiently.
• Provide product information and guide customers through options.
• Follow procedures to deliver consistent service quality.
• Upsell local services to optimize gross profit.
• Support OFR Ops/CS plans for ocean freight forwarding to internal/external customers.
• Respond to queries and assist in customer visits to maintain relationships.
• Handle shipment documentation for freight forwarding and collate data.
• Identify performance issues and propose improvements to OFR Ops/CS work methods.
• May provide guidance or training to junior positions.
• Manage transport orders with export offices and agents.
• Prepare and distribute Import documents and identify performance improvement opportunities.
