Northwest Hardwoods is seeking an Import & Export Logistics Specialist to join our team in Dallas. You will coordinate shipments, manage import documentation, and collaborate with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to keep our global supply chain moving smoothly.

The role emphasizes organization, attention to detail, and clear communication to ensure timely delivery and accurate handling of export/import activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of Import/Export experience.
• International logistics experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or Supply Chain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Buyers and Vendors to arrange shipment details for import purchases.
• Process import documents to submit ISF requests.
• Work with Customs Broker and CBP to resolve clearance discrepancies.
• Collaborate with drayage carriers for container delivery to NWH/3PL locations.
• Review orders and update ERP data.
• Track vessel bookings and drayage loads in the TMS.
• Build positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

As an Import & Export Logistics Specialist, you’ll collaborate with teams across the organization to coordinate shipments, solve problems, manage changing priorities, and help keep our operation running smoothly. This position is all about coordination, communication, and attention to detail. You’ll be the person connecting the dots across international shipments - coordinating with customers, carriers, suppliers, customs partners, and internal teams to make sure orders are processed accurately and shipments move smoothly from origin to destination. From import/export documentation, shipment scheduling to tracking deliveries and resolving issues, you’ll help keep product moving across borders and ensure everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. You will play a direct role in keeping our global supply chain running smoothly and serving customers around the world.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Work with Buyers and Vendors to arrange shipment details for import purchases
• Process import documents to submit ISF requests
• Work with Customs Broker and CBP to resolve any clearance or inspection discrepancies
• Collaborate with drayage carriers for container delivery to NWH/3PL locations
• Review new orders and update information in ERP system
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Request bookings with ocean carriers and freight forwarders based on customer ETA requirements and export routing guide
• Arrange for container loading and delivering to ramp or port with drayage carrier in TMS
• Coordinate with material availability, shipping schedule and internal departments to ensure orders ship on time and comply with all export requirements
• Maintain shipment details in Excel spreadsheet
• Track vessel bookings and drayage loads within TMS (Transportation Management System)
• Research and resolve Operational and Receiving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Support commercial organization with relevant information such as ocean and drayage rates
• Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with vendors and key internal stakeholders
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Minimum of 2 years of Import/Export experience
• International logistics experience

Preferred

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or Supply Chain with one year relevant experience preferred.
• Proficient knowledge with ERP and TMS - highly desired
