Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST

Pay: $45–$50/hour

Duration: 6+ months with strong potential for conversion

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Import Customs Specialist to support U.S. import compliance and customs operations for a global organization. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on U.S. customs entry writing experience and strong knowledge of HTS classification, USMCA, customs documentation, and broker management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and audit U.S. customs entries and import documentation.
• Perform and validate HTS/tariff classifications for products and commodities.
• Review BOMs and product information to support proper classification.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and resolve entry discrepancies, shipment holds, and clearance issues.
• Support USMCA qualification, supplier certifications, and rules‑of‑origin requirements.
• Review tariff, duty, valuation, and country‑of‑origin information.
• Analyze customs/trade data and identify compliance and optimization opportunities.
• Monitor U.S. import regulations and support audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and other teams.
• Utilize Microsoft Office, data analytics, and digital/technology‑enabled platforms.

Qualifications

• Recent U.S. customs entry writing/import experience, ideally within the last 3–5 years.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and import entry processes.
• Experience with HTS classification.
• Experience working with customs brokers.
• Working knowledge of USMCA and rules of origin.
• Experience reviewing BOMs and/or product information for customs purposes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross‑functional environment.

Preferred: Customs Broker license, previous Customs Broker/Entry Writer experience, trade compliance audit experience, and experience with data analytics or digital trade compliance platforms.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to be local to the Alpharetta, GA area. Initial training will be onsite for approximately 1–2 weeks, with additional onsite training as needed. Remote flexibility may be available after successful onboarding and demonstration of proficiency.
