Job summary

Cascade Health, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own customer implementations from kickoff to live production. You'll translate customer needs into working Cascade deployments and ship integrations and configurations.

You’ll join late-stage sales calls to show prospects what was built, why it matters, and how it maps to their environment. This is a true engineering role with customer-facing impact.

Responsibilities

• Own customer implementations end to end — scoping, integration, configuration, data setup, testing, and launch — and stay accountable for them in production.
• Work directly with each customer's team to understand their systems, constraints, and goals, then translate that into a working Cascade deployment.
• Write and ship the code, integrations, and custom configuration required to make each implementation succeed.
• Debug and resolve issues in customer environments, and feed recurring problems back to product and engineering.
• Join late-stage sales calls to present real customer implementations to prospects — walking through what we built, the outcomes, and how it maps to their situation.
• Build reusable tooling, templates, and playbooks so each new implementation is faster than the last.

About the Role

You will own how Cascade actually works for each customer. This is a build-heavy, customer-facing engineering role: you take a signed customer from kickoff to a live, production implementation, and you keep it working. You're the person who understands both the product internals and the customer's real environment well enough to make them fit together.

Because you build the implementations, you're also the most credible person to talk about them. You'll join late-stage sales calls to show prospects exactly what we've built for customers like them — what the setup looked like, what was hard, and how it delivered value. This is not a pre-sales support role bolted onto engineering; it's an engineer who can carry the technical story into the room.

What You'll Do

• Own customer implementations end to end — scoping, integration, configuration, data setup, testing, and launch — and stay accountable for them in production.

What We're Looking For

• Strong engineering fundamentals — you can build and ship production integrations independently, not just configure a UI.

• Direct customer-facing experience: you're comfortable running a technical conversation, on a working call and in front of prospects on a sales call.

• Comfort with ambiguity and ownership — you can walk into a messy customer environment and drive to a working outcome without a fully spec'd plan.

• Clear communicator who can explain technical work to non-technical stakeholders and tell a compelling "here's what we did" story.

• Bias for shipping and for making the next implementation easier than the last.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, implementation engineer, founding/solutions engineer, or early implementation hire at a startup.

• Experience integrating with HR, benefits, payroll, or HRIS systems.

• Comfort working closely with sales and being measured partly on customer outcomes and deal support.
