Overview
The Implementation Consultant is a post-sales position focusing on individual clients and the implementation of Edifecs solutions purchased by those clients. The role involves installing, configuring, and overseeing the implementation of Edifecs products at client sites, including installation on Edifecs or client hardware, configuration, and development of programs, tasks, and guidelines to fully implement solutions tailored to client needs. The Implementation Consultant serves as the primary Client Services technical resource, interfacing with the client’s technical team. Responsibilities include delivering product training, developing client-specific requirements, and deployment, requiring high technical understanding of Edifecs solutions and transaction flows.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and communicate with clients post-sale to develop implementation plans tailored to their needs.
- Collaborate with the Implementation Architect / Technical Project Manager to formulate architecture, strategy, and operational plans.
- Install, upgrade, and configure Edifecs products at client sites.
- Integrate Edifecs products with other software assets and processes at the client site.
- Coordinate with internal teams to meet development and configuration milestones, creating guidelines, programs, and reports as needed.
- Provide post-implementation support during transition to maintenance.
- Deliver software and client-specific training, developing relevant documentation.
- Mentor and train internal teams on Edifecs products and custom components.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Edifecs products and solutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients’ technical teams, demonstrating strong presentation skills.
- Manage or participate in testing and release cycles for product deployment.
- Create detailed operational documentation to support deployment.
- Deliver technical training aligned with customer deployment cycles.
- Maintain excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Work flexibly in rotational night shifts as required.
Qualifications
- Understanding of Application Integration / Enterprise Application Integration.
- Experience with middleware tools such as JCAPS, WebMethods, WMBI, AquaLogic, or understanding of messaging engines like IBM MQ, Active MQ.
- Knowledge of Integration Design Patterns.
- Familiarity with message formats such as XML, EDI, EDIFACT, HL7, etc.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, and scripting languages like Perl.
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server, including SQL scripting and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Application Servers.
- Experience with technical requirement documents, process flow diagrams, and deployment guides.
- Ability to develop technical designs and manage releases.
- Good understanding of healthcare payer/provider environments and HIPAA EDI transactions.
- Strong process orientation, troubleshooting, analytical skills, and project management abilities.
- Experience in technical training and being a team player.
