Job summary

The Mental Health Association - Western MA is seeking a Massachusetts Impaired Driver (MID) Instructor to provide group and/or individual clinical services to participants mandated to complete the driver alcohol education program.

You will complete initial adult comprehensive assessments for admission, mid-point evaluations, and exit interviews, and you will support curriculum development and documentation with probation officers, courts, and the RMV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field OR independent licensure.
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment and recovery; knowledge of local resources.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Residency requirement in specified states.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of substance use disorders and their impact on functioning.
• Support participants in identifying and attaining recovery goals; reduce recidivism.
• Assist participants in setting and implementing treatment goals for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
• Assess participant needs, discuss challenges, and encourage personal growth.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate and empower participants about community resources and self-help groups.
• Maintain current knowledge through trainings and professional development.
• Complete required documentation and report crises; respect cultural identities.
