Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part‑Time Faculty members to provide high-quality instruction and student support, aligning with equity and student success goals. Assignments may be day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid across the District’s colleges.

Responsibilities include teaching courses, developing syllabi, evaluating student work, maintaining records, and engaging with students in an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Possession of Bachelor’s Degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the discipline.
• Possession of any Associate Degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the discipline.
• Equivalency may be considered.
• Applicants must demonstrate understanding and respect for diverse backgrounds of students and community.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for diverse students.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond to inquiries.
• Utilize the District’s LMS and instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, bargaining agreements, accreditation standards and regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development and other college activities.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the discipline

Equivalency
