Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified part-time faculty to provide high-quality instruction and student support in alignment with the District’s mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence.

Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree or higher with related experience, or an Associate Degree with substantial related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the discipline; OR
• Associate Degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the discipline; OR
• Equivalent combinations meeting the discipline requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain academic records.
• Submit grades and other reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for diverse students.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's LMS and instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and college activities.
