Job summary

Blue Ridge Area Food Bank seeks a Warehouse Assistant and Class B Driver to support safe pick-up, delivery, receiving, and distribution of food at Verona, VA. You will operate non-CDL and Class B vehicles for local routes and assist with inventory and daily warehouse tasks.

Ideal candidates have CDL Class B driving experience, forklift/pallet jack skills, and a commitment to food safety and community impact.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B driving experience
• Valid Virginia CDL Class B license with safe driving record and DOT compliance
• Experience operating warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stand-up riders)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently
• Ability to work in warehouse environment in various weather conditions
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and food safety requirements
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer skills for reporting and records

Responsibilities

• Safely pick up, deliver, receive, and distribute food products
• Operate non-CDL and CDL Class B vehicles for local routes
• Support inventory management and documentation in the computer system
• Serve as back-up driver for Mobile Food Pantry
• Participate in daily warehouse operations and safety practices
