The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in Verona, VA is hiring a full‑time Warehouse Assistant and Class B Driver. The role ensures safe pick‑up, delivery, receiving, and distribution of food while supporting daily warehouse operations.

The position uses non‑CDL box trucks and CDL Class B vehicles for local routes and back‑ups for the Mobile Food Pantry. It requires CDL Class B, safe driving, forklift/pallet jack/stand‑up rider experience, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license with a safe driving record.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and stand‑up riders.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment and in adverse weather conditions.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is seeking a full-time Warehouse Assistant and Class B Driver for our Verona, VA warehouse. This role is essential to supporting the Food Bank's mission by ensuring the safe pick‑up, delivery, receiving, and distribution of food products as well as contributing to daily warehouse operations. The position operates non‑CDL vehicles, box trucks, and CDL Class B vehicles to complete scheduled routes, including responsibility for the Neighborhood Produce Market, and serves as a back‑up driver for the Mobile Food Pantry. In addition, this role supports inventory management by tracking products and completing required documentation in the computer system.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year's CDL (either Class A or B) driving experience
• Valid Virginia CDL Class B Driver's license with a safe driving record, and ability to maintain or meet all DOT requirements, including ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and stand‑up riders
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally in a safe manner
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment and in adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and food safety requirements
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers, as well as independently
• Basic computer skills with the ability to complete reports and maintain accurate records

Benefits & Work Schedule:

• Full‑time position with excellent benefits, generous PTO, and eligibility for 12 paid holidays
• Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional evening hours and minimal overtime as needed
• Local routes only, allowing drivers to return home at the end of each workday

Work Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $20.00–$21.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
