Job summary

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in Verona, VA is hiring a full‑time Warehouse Assistant and Class B Driver. The role ensures safe pick‑up, delivery, receiving, and distribution of food while supporting daily warehouse operations.

The position uses non‑CDL box trucks and CDL Class B vehicles for local routes and back‑ups for the Mobile Food Pantry. It requires CDL Class B, safe driving, forklift/pallet jack/stand‑up rider experience, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license with a safe driving record.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and stand‑up riders.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment and in adverse weather conditions.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and food safety requirements.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers.
• Basic computer skills to complete reports and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Safely pick‑up, deliver, receive, and distribute food products.
• Support inventory management and maintain required documentation in the computer system.
• Operate non‑CDL box trucks and CDL Class B vehicles on scheduled routes.
• Serve as backup driver for the Mobile Food Pantry and manage Neighborhood Produce Market duties.
