Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for Utility Project Engineer roles at multiple levels. You will support district energy infrastructure, review drawings, coordinate with internal staff and external partners, and help manage design reviews and project execution across steam, chilled water, and electrical systems.

Qualified candidates hold a engineering degree and have strong communication, analytical, and project-management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related engineering field and equivalent experience.
  • Experience with district energy systems and design reviews preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and review for new installations and upgrades of district energy infrastructure.
  • Prepare and facilitate design reviews with internal stakeholders.
  • Review and approve drawings and submittals from design firms and contractors.
  • Develop departmental standards, processes, and tools for design/review of equipment and upgrades.
  • Design and manage small to medium infrastructure upgrade projects with internal stakeholders.
  • Update technical documentation reflecting infrastructure modifications.
