The Utility Engineering Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical infrastructure and grid‑related projects, including transmission, substation, and compliance‑driven initiatives. This role is well suited for early‑to mid‑career professionals with an electrical engineering background or equivalent utility/energy industry experience who are looking to grow within large‑scale utility or energy programs.
The consultant will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, vendors, and compliance stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in alignment with regulatory and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support project execution across electrical, transmission, substation, and grid‑compliance programs
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and action items using MS Project and/or Smartsheet
- Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, vendors, and compliance teams
- Track project risks, issues, costs, and deliverables; support change management activities
- Prepare project status reports, meeting notes, and required documentation
- Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed
Qualifications
- 0–5+ years of experience in project management, engineering support, or utility/energy projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent power/utility industry experience
- Experience or exposure to regulated utility programs, grid compliance, transmission lines, substations, or power infrastructure
- Familiarity with MS Project, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Utility or NERC‑related project experience
- Field experience with substations or transmission assets
