Job summary

Apex Companies LLC is seeking a Transportation Co-op to support the Quincy, MA team on a range of municipal transportation projects. You will assist with planning, design, permitting, and construction administration for bike lanes, sidewalks, signals, roundabouts, and related improvements.

The role includes field work, GPS observations, and exposure to AutoCAD and Esri GIS tools. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ideally, candidates should be enrolled in or have completed civil engineering courses (not required).
• GET 1150 - Foundations of Engineering Graphics and Design
• CIVE 4554 - Highway Design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Experience in AutoCAD and GIS mapping software (Esri products) preferred.
• Must possess solid technical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-op students typically support team members with planning, design, permitting, and construction administration activities for projects such as bike trails, sidewalks, traffic signals, roundabouts, streetscapes, or other transportation improvements.
• Field work may include GPS and/or construction observations.
• Co-ops receive an opportunity to assist with a variety of projects and clients depending on available work and interest.
