Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Transitional Housing Ambassador Program Counselor to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide case management, and support clients in a faith-based setting. Responsibilities include individual, family, and group counseling, maintaining caseloads, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

A Bachelor’s degree in human services is required; 1–2 years of direct substance abuse services preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in human services or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Background check required for employment.
• Minimum 1–2 years direct services in substance abuse field preferred.
• CADAC/ACIT certification preferred or must obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each client.
• Provide case management services as needed for assigned clients.
• Maintain a caseload and conduct individual, family, and group counseling.
• Teach educational classes as needed.
• Document progress in the EMR, including progress notes and treatment plans.
• Present cases to the multi-disciplinary team and obtain signatures on plans.
• Counsel clients using evidence-based approaches and collaborate with families as appropriate.
• Facilitate clinical and educational classes and ensure confidentiality.
